Lifestyle Intervention for
Weight Management and Preventive Medicine

Your Bariatrician

Bariatric Physicians, or bariatricians practice weight loss/management by reducing body fat using an individualized approach crafted for each patient. The American Society of Bariatric Physicians has developed and promoted Bariatric Practice Guidelines which provides a framework that helps to ensure a high standard of medical practice. By following these guidelines we agree to:

Preform an initial patient work-up to determine treatment based on each patient’s history, physical exam, laboratory work and other appropriate testing, as needed.

Provide counseling and follow-up on proper eating habits, exercise, behavior modification and other aspects of weight loss throughout the program.

Review the potential benefits and risk of any medication that may be used during treatment.

Develop an individual weight maintenance program for each patient after weight loss goals are achieved.
